CURBSIDE COLLECTION
For New Milford Residents only, the Borough provides a curbside recycling collection program every Thursday, Borough-wide, alternating between commingled (bottles, cans, plastics) and paper/cardboard collection. Please see Recycling/Garbage Calendar for schedule.

RECYCLING/GARBAGE CALENDARS
Calendars are mailed to all residents during December of the preceding year. Replacement Calendars are available at the DPW office & the Borough Clerks office as well as online.

New homeowners are provided with one recycling container, free of charge. New homeowners receive a Welcome Bag which contains the slip entitling them to a free can. Replacement or additional recycling cans may be purchased at the DPW Office, M-F 7:30AM-3:00PM, for a cost of $22.00 each and an additional $5.00 for lid. Please make checks payable to "Borough of New Milford".

GARBAGE / TRASH COLLECTION
Curbside Collection begins at 6:00 AM on Boulevard and River Road. Pick-up on secondary roads begins at 6:30 AM. Place trash curbside in a sturdy container or sealed plastic bags AFTER 6:00 PM the night before collection day.

MISSED COLLECTIONS or issues should be reported to the DPW by calling 201-967-8172.

***TRASH & BULK ITEMS ARE NOT ACCEPTED AT THE RECYCLING CENTER***

TRASH: Bagged or in cans (not to exceed 40 lbs. when filled). Allowed amount: up to 5 containers & 4 bags.

BULK ITEM: 1 non-metal item per pick-up (example: sofa, chair, mattress, box spring, toilet, wooden furniture).

LATEX PAINT: Must be in solid form. Use paint hardening crystals (sold at hardware stores) or clumping cat litter to harden.

CARPET: Cut to 3 ft. lengths, tied & bundled (no more than 5 bundles per pick up).

BATTERIES: Only rechargeable batteries are recyclable. Alkaline batteries place in trash.
